About the status of diplomatic representations of foreign states in the Republic of Moldova
Article 1. Diplomatic representations of foreign states (further - diplomatic representation), permanent in the Republic of Moldova, represent data of the state, maintain the official interstate relations, protect the rights and legitimate interests of the states and their citizens.

Article 3. Ambassadors and nuncios, envoys and internuncioes start the responsibilities from the moment of delivery by them to the President of the Republic of Moldova of credential letters.
Chargês d'affaires start the responsibilities from the moment of representation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova of letters of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the states.
Article 4. The head of diplomatic representation or other member of diplomatic staff can be accredited also in other states only with the consent of the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
Article 5. The citizen of the Republic of Moldova or the third state can be the diplomatic representative of foreign state in the Republic of Moldova with the consent of the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
Article 6. For implementation of functions the privileges and immunities provided by the Vienna convention on the diplomatic intercourses of 1961 are provided to diplomatic representation and its personnel.
Article 7. Persons using privileges and immunities shall observe the Constitution and the legislation of the Republic of Moldova.
Article 8. The head of diplomatic representation, diplomats and members of their families use security of person.
The diplomats who are not citizens of the Republic of Moldova use immunity from jurisdiction of the Republic of Moldova.
Diplomats use immunity from the civil jurisdiction in all cases, except in case of which they enter the civil relations as individuals.
Diplomats are citizens of the Republic of Moldova - use immunity from jurisdiction of the Republic of Moldova only concerning the actions made by them on duty if there are no other agreements.
The members of administrative technicians and members of their families who are not citizens of the Republic of Moldova use on the basis of reciprocity privileges and immunities with that exception that immunity from civil and administrative jurisdiction of the Republic of Moldova extends only to the actions made by them on duty.
The members of service personnel who are not citizens of the Republic of Moldova use immunity from jurisdiction of the Republic of Moldova only concerning the actions made by them on duty if there are no other agreements.
The government of the Republic of Moldova shall undertake all necessary measures for safety of these persons.
Article 9. The residence, the real estate, property, vehicles of diplomatic representation, premises of diplomatic agents are inviolable.
Representatives of the government of the Republic of Moldova cannot get into the residence without the consent of the head of diplomatic representation.
Correspondence, archives and documents of diplomatic representation are inviolable.
Article 10. The head of diplomatic representation and diplomatic staff have no right to be engaged in the Republic of Moldova in other professional or business activity for the purpose of receipt of personal incomes.
Article 11. Premises of diplomatic representation on the basis of reciprocity are exempted from all taxes. Charges for rendering services are levied according to the procedure, established by the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
Article 12. The diplomats and members of administrative technicians who are not citizens of the Republic of Moldova are exempted from tax payment, personal charges and the property taxes, except:
- indirect taxes;
- charges and taxes on the private real estate;
- succession duties and private incomes;
- taxes on business activity;
- charges for rendering services.
The members of service personnel who are not citizens of the Republic of Moldova are exempted from charges and the wage taxes, received in the place of the main work.
Article 13. The diplomatic representation according to the legislation of the Republic of Moldova has the right to import the objects intended for official use into the republic. Diplomats can import objects for private and family use. These objects are not assessed with customs fees.
The personal baggage of the diplomatic agent is exempted from customs examination, except as specified, when there are proofs that it contains objects which import and export is prohibited by the legislation of the Republic of Moldova or is regulated by special rules.
Customs examination of baggage of the diplomatic agent is performed at its presence or in the presence of person authorized by it.
Article 13-1. Diplomatic representations can acquire or receive by means of exchange the parcels of land and/or the real estate under construction of embassies and apartment houses for personnel according to bilateral interstate agreements.
Article 14. Freedom of the intercourse in the office purposes with the government, other diplomatic representations and consulates of the state where they would not be is allowed and guaranteed to diplomatic representation in the procedure established by the Government of the Republic of Moldova. The diplomatic representation can use all means which are at its disposal, including use of diplomatic couriers and the coded or coded messages. The diplomatic representation cannot establish and use the radio-transmitting device without the consent of the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
The diplomatic representation establishes and supports the relations with organizations of the Republic of Moldova only by means of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration according to the procedure, established by the Government, except for organizations of transport, communication and health care.
Article 15. If the international treaty, one of the parties of which is the Republic of Moldova, establishes other regulations, than those which are provided by this Law are applied regulations of the international treaty.
