About foreign intelligence
This Law determines the status, competence and the organization of activities of subjects of foreign intelligence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and members of prospecting community of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In this Law the following basic concepts are used:
1) prospecting information - the information obtained and (or) used for ensuring national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
1-1) prospecting actions - the public and secret actions performed by subjects of foreign intelligence for the solution of prospecting tasks;
1-2) prospecting communities of the Republic of Kazakhstan - set of the state bodies and organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan designed to provide the country leaders with prospecting information and analytical estimates, and also participating in limits of the established competence of the actions promoting strengthening of prospecting opportunities of subjects of foreign intelligence;
2) foreign intelligence of the Republic of Kazakhstan - system of the vowels and secret prospecting, organizational and managerial measures performed according to the legislation in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and beyond its limits for ensuring national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
2-1) authorized body in the field of foreign intelligence (further - body of foreign intelligence) - Committee of homeland security of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
3) intelligence activities of subjects of foreign intelligence - activities for getting, processing and use of prospecting information, and also assistance of implementation of measures, performed by the state for the benefit of ensuring national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
