This law regulates the relations arising in connection with reckoning to the state and official secret, declassification and preserving data of certain area for the purpose of safety of the Republic of Armenia (the vital interests of citizens, society and the state), determines concept of the state and official secret, privacy degree, legal basis of reckoning to number of the state and official secret, preserving, declassification, use of the classified information, powers of state bodies in the relations concerning secret.

Chapter I. General provisions

Article 1. Scope of this law

Provisions of this law are subject to obligatory execution in the territory of the Republic of Armenia and beyond its limits state, municipalities of domicile, and also the companies, organizations and the organizations (irrespective of form of business), officials and citizens of the Republic of Armenia who according to the status shall or undertook the obligation to fulfill requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Armenia about the state and official secret.

Article 2. Concept of the state and official secret

The data which are the state and official secret are considered as property of the Republic of Armenia and are protected and protected by the state.

Article 3. The concepts used in this law

In this law the following concepts are used:

5. Preserving the state and official secret is complex application of stipulated by the legislation legal, organizational, technical and other necessary means and methods which is aimed at providing preserving and protection of the data which are the state or official secret.
