considering that necessary condition for development of such cooperation is effective and adequate legal protection of the computer programs, databases and topology of integral chips,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties perform and develop cooperation in the field of protection, use and protection of the rights to the computer programs, databases and topology of integral chips on the basis of mutual advantage according to this agreement and other international treaties which participants are the states of the Parties.

Article 2

The cooperation of the Parties is performed in the following areas:

settlement within the competence of the questions connected with protection, use and protection of the rights to the computer programs, databases and topology of integral chips;

assistance of harmonization of national legal acts, methodical and other documents in the field of legal protection of the computer programs, databases and topology of integral chips;

exchange of information, regulations and other documents, and also experience in the field of legal protection of the computer programs, databases and topology of integral chips;

holding joint seminars and conferences, generalization of practice of the Parties in the field of legal protection of the computer programs, databases and topology of integral chips.

Article 3

The parties, providing conditions of preserving official and trade secret, will carry out information search, preparation of research opinions and conclusions about availability in Registers of the Parties of the registered computer programs, databases and topology of the integral chips and agreements on their use which are of interest to the Parties.

The specified works will be carried out on contractual basis with financing of these works by the Party customer.

Article 4

The parties will promote inclusion in bilateral agreements of the states of the Parties about economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation of regulations on ensuring legal protection of the computer programs, databases and topology of integral chips.

Article 5

The parties will render assistance to the relevant competent authorities in implementation of measures for prevention and suppression of illegal use of the computer programs, databases and topology of integral chips.

Article 6

The documents directed by the Parties each other are represented in Russian.

Article 7

For the operational solution of the questions connected with implementation of this agreement, the Parties form permanent work group which members affirm the Parties.

Article 8

Disagreements on the questions arising in connection with implementation of this agreement are permitted by negotiations.

Article 9

This agreement becomes effective from the date of its signing, will be effective within three years and to be prolonged automatically for the subsequent three-year periods if any of the Parties at least in six months prior to the expiration of the next period does not notify in writing other Party on the intention to stop its action.
