About further enhancement of control of entrance, departure and transit of foreign vehicles

For the purpose of further enhancement of control of entrance, departure and transit stay in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan of foreign vehicles, the Cabinet of Ministers decides strengthenings of fight against drug traffic and smuggling:

1. Establish since January 1, 2009 rates of the additional charge for entrance and transit across the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the foreign cargo vehicles and buses crossing Frontier of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Republic of Tajikistan according to appendix No. 1.

2. Determine that payment of the additional charge for entrance and transit from each foreign vehicle is performed in national currency of "bags" in non-cash form or commercial banks directly on customs posts at check points through Frontier of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Republic of Tajikistan in cash form or with transfer of the received funds through departments of commercial banks of the Republic of Uzbekistan into the account of Republican road fund under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Central Bank rate of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the date of payment.

3. To committee on protection of Frontier of Service of homeland security, State Customs Committee and Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan:

strengthen control of entrance and departure through check points of Oybek (The Tashkent region) and Andarkhan (The Fergana region), and also behind transit across the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan of foreign vehicles;

increase the number of staff of boundary and customs posts on check points of Oybek and Andarkhan respectively within the total established number of staff of Committee on protection of Frontier of Service of homeland security and the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

provide equipment of customs post of Andarkhan with necessary processing equipment and means of engineering supervision.

4. To the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trades of the Republic of Uzbekistan, National information and analysis center on control of drugs under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan to handle issue of acquisition of scanners for customs posts of Oybek and Andarkhan at the expense of the raised grant funds.

Rates of the additional charge for entrance and transit across the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the foreign cargo vehicles and buses crossing Frontier of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Republic of Tajikistan

1. For cargo vehicles and buses of the Republic of Tajikistan - 180 US dollars.

2. For vehicles of Turkmenistan:

a) for cargo vehicles load-carrying capacity:

to 10 tons - 35 US dollars;

10 tons and above - 55 US dollars;

b) for buses with number of seats:

less than 12 places - 35 US dollars;

12 places and more - 55 US dollars.

3. For cargo vehicles and buses of other foreign states - 265 dollars of SShA*.

(*) The additional charge is not applied to vehicles of foreign states with which the Republic of Uzbekistan signs the international agreements providing non-use to vehicles of these states of charges and payments for use of highways.
