The agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic Georgia on cooperation in the field of agricultural industry and the food industry

The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic Georgia which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

considering interest of both countries in development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of agricultural industry and the food industry,

wishing to put into practice results of joint scientific technical achievements,

in every possible way promoting development of agro-industrial complexes of both countries,

being convinced that the cooperation in the field of agricultural industry and the food industry will promote further development and strengthening of the relations between both countries,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties will promote development of cooperation in the field of agricultural industry and the food industry on the basis of equality and reciprocity.

Article 2

The parties intend to establish direct research connections between the relevant research institutions of Academies of agricultural sciences of both Parties with the emphasis on development of management, the economic analysis and new forms of managing in agro-industrial complex.

Article 3

The parties intend to cooperate in areas of seed materials and improvements of gene pools in crop production, silkworm breeding and livestock production (on seeds of wheat, sugar and table beet, brewing barley, corn, potatoes, number of vegetable cultures, delivery of incubatory eggs of hens of the egg direction, broilers, turkey-cocks, and also advanced technologies on their cultivation and further industrial conversion, acquisition of different veterinary medicines and medicamentous means).

Article 4

The parties intend to cooperate in the field of livestock production for the purpose of the maximum requirements satisfaction of the population of both republics, also in the field of beekeeping (technology of artificial forages for bees, inverse sugar, modern technologies of conversion of products of beekeeping).

Article 5

The parties express readiness for cooperation in the field of melioration and meliorative works (acquisition for system of agricultural industry of the different meliorative and irrigational equipment, technical means, auxiliary materials).

Article 6

The parties intend to cooperate in the field of wine growing, both in the field of development of joint research projects, and in the field of expansion of gene pool of grapes. Special attention will be paid to recovery and development of cooperation bonds between the companies of wine industry of both Parties, to implementation of modern technologies for the purpose of production of high-quality dining rooms and sparkling wines, cognac products.

Article 7

The parties express readiness for cooperation and interaction in creation of joint businesses in state and the privatized sectors both in the field of agricultural industry, and in industrial conversion of food products, concerning forms and methods of privatization in the village, in exchange of delegations between associations of the Uzbek and Georgian farms.

Article 8

The parties intend to cooperate in case of production and supply of natural essential oils for their further use in perfumery and cosmetic, medical and paint and varnish industry.

Article 9

The parties express readiness for cooperation in improvement of providing the population with vinoproduktion, the packed-up black and green tea, fruit canned food, fruit and mineral waters in assortment, beer and other agricultural products and products of its conversion on mutually advantageous conditions.

The list of the mutually delivered food products in addition is approved by the Parties and, in case of need, is drawn up by the relevant protocols.

Article 10

The parties intend to cooperate in case of training of different levels for agro-industrial complexes of both Parties, in advanced training of specialists, and also in exchange of specialists and trainees of different industries.

Article 11

The parties express readiness for close cooperation in material logistics for the purpose of the every possible growth of level of mechanization and the maximum satisfaction of requirement of agro-industrial complexes of both Parties.

Article 12

The parties will resolve all matters of argument which can arise in connection with interpretation and application of this agreement, by negotiations and consultations.

Article 13

The parties agreed that in case of need, this agreement by agreement can change and be supplemented.

Article 14

This agreement does not affect the rights and obligations of the Parties following from other international treaties signed by them with the third parties.

Article 15

This agreement becomes effective from the date of its signing and is effective within five years. Its action is automatically prolonged for the next five-year periods if any of the Parties does not send to other Party in six months prior to the termination of the duration of the agreement the written notice of the termination of its action.

It is made in the city of Tashkent on September 4, 1995 in duplicate, everyone in the Uzbek, Georgian and Russian languages, and all texts are equally authoritative.

For the purposes of interpretation of this agreement the text in Russian is used.
