About liberty of conscience, thought and religions
Based on Article 31 and Item l) parts (3) article 72 of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova,
The parliament adopts this organic law.
This law governs the relations connected with liberty of conscience, thoughts and religions, guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and international treaties in the field of human rights, one of the parties of which is the Republic of Moldova, and also legal status of religious cults and their components.
(1) the Legal base in the field of liberty of conscience, thoughts and religions of religious cults and their components make the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, the international agreements, one of the parties of which is the Republic of Moldova, and this law.
(2) the Constitutional provisions and provisions of the laws concerning liberty of conscience, thought and religion and religious liberty are subject to interpretation and application according to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and international treaties, one of the parties of which is the Republic of Moldova. If international treaties which the Republic of Moldova joined, provide others, than established in this law, regulations, regulations of international treaties are applied.
For the purposes of this law the following concepts are used:
religious cult - the religious structure with the status of the legal entity performing the activities in the territory of the Republic of Moldova according to the doctrinal, initial, moral and disciplinary standards, historical and ceremonial traditions which are not contradicting the current legislation, created by the persons which are under jurisdiction of the Republic of Moldova, jointly expressing the religious beliefs and observing the established traditions, ceremonies and ceremonies;
component of religious cult - religious community or religious institution of any religious cult;
religious community - the local component of religious cult representing association of the persons which united and performing the activities on the principles of voluntariness, autonomy, self-financing, equality of all members for the purpose of joint religion. Religious communities are receipts, monastic communities or monasteries, congregations, brotherhoods, local churches and other similar types of religious communities;
religious institution - the central or regional component of religious cult founded by that or religious community without the fixed membership, representing religious institution or structure. Religious institutions are dioceses, diotseziya, pro-top opiates, dean's offices, religious, social or charitable missions, theological educational institutions of any level, the pilgrim centers, religious funds, disciplinary church instances, other similar organizations;
religious beliefs - complex of the ideas, principles, dogmas or dogmas of religious nature in which the person believes which he voluntarily accepts and professes and by which is guided in life;
