About diplomatic and office passports of Turkmenistan

According to the Regulations on passport system of Turkmenistan approved by the resolution of the President of Turkmenistan of October 25, 1996 No. 2843, I decide:

1. Approve the enclosed Regulations on diplomatic and office passports of Turkmenistan, their samples and the description.

2. Enact diplomatic and office passports of Turkmenistan since October 15, 1997.

3. To the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan according to the Regulations on diplomatic and office passports of Turkmenistan approved by this resolution to perform issue and replacement of diplomatic and service passports of Turkmenistan till October 15, 1998.

4. Determine that before issue in full diplomatic and service passports of Turkmenistan are saved the power by diplomatic and service passports of the former USSR.

Regulations on the diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan

1. This Provision is developed based on Regulations on passport system of Turkmenistan approved by the resolution of the President of Turkmenistan of October 25, 1996 No. 2843.

2. The diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan confirms that its owner who is the citizen of Turkmenistan has the corresponding diplomatic status or makes trip abroad with special diplomatic mission.

The diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan serves as the official document proving the identity of its owner as abroad, and within Turkmenistan.

The diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan is property of Turkmenistan.

3. The diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan to citizens of Turkmenistan in case of the direction them abroad in official journey, in the presence and the exit visa approved in accordance with the established procedure from Turkmenistan.

4. In the diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan it is specified that its owner is citizen of Turkmenistan, and the following information about the identity of its owner is provided:

a) surname and name;

b) number, month and year of birth;

c) birthplace;

d) floor.

The diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan has photograph and the signature of the owner of the passport.

5. The diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan is issued for up to five years. Its action can be prolonged once for a period of up to one year after which the passport is subject to replacement.

6. Diplomatic passports are issued:

a) To the president of Turkmenistan;

b) to Hulk Maslakhata's members of Turkmenistan;

c) To the chairman, vice-chairman, deputies of Majlis of Turkmenistan;

d) To vice-chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan;

e) Managing Affairs of the Office of the President of Turkmenistan, to assistants and advisers to the President of Turkmenistan, the press secretary and the security officer of the President of Turkmenistan;

e) to ministers and chairmen of the state committees of Turkmenistan;

g) to hyakima of welayats and Ashgabat;

h) to the staff of department of the State protocol and international relations of the Office of the President of Turkmenistan;

i) to the diplomatic staff of central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, consular departments and Items of the Ministry foreign, cases of Turkmenistan;

j) to heads and the staff of diplomatic representations and consular establishments of Turkmenistan abroad, and also permanent missions of Turkmenistan under the international organizations;

k) to the diplomatic couriers of Turkmenistan and persons who are going abroad with special diplomatic mission.

7. Diplomatic passports of Turkmenistan are issued also to the members of families following with persons or to persons mentioned in Item 6 of this provision. Children up to 16 years fit into the passport of one of parents with which they follow.

8. In exceptional cases the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan has the right to issue diplomatic passports of Turkmenistan to persons which are not specified in Item 6 of this provision according to the order of the President of Turkmenistan.

9. Diplomatic passports of Turkmenistan are issued free of charge.

10. Diplomatic passports of Turkmenistan are stored in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Upon return from business trip to Turkmenistan not later than in 7-day time the diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan is given for storage in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

11. In case of loss or plunder of the diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan its owner shall report immediately about it in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan or in diplomatic representation or consular establishment of Turkmenistan abroad.

The lost diplomatic passport is considered invalid.

Description of the diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan

The diplomatic passport of Turkmenistan is made of special protective paper with local watermarks in the form of the image of horse.

The cover of the passport of dark green color with the undercut corners, is made of the plastic material steady against deleting, gap and scratching.
