Agreement between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on cooperation

The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the "Contracting parties" which further are referred to as,

wishing to deepen the benevolent relations between both states,

recognizing importance of establishment of partner bonds between bodies and organizations of justice of Contracting Parties;

agreed about the following:

Article 1

Contracting parties will cooperate in the following directions:

(1) lawmaking process enhancement;

(2) organization of symposiums, conferences and seminars for different problems of jurisprudence and practice;

(3) holding seminars and other actions for training and advanced training of lawyers;

(4) exchange of delegations of Contracting Parties for acquaintance with the organization and activities of bodies and organizations of justice of each other;

(5) exchange of documents, literature and other corresponding materials for the legislative purposes;

(6) experience exchange according to the conclusion and implementation of bilateral and multilateral agreements about legal assistance on civil, family and criminal cases.

(7) in other directions if they answer the purpose and interests of Contracting Parties.

Article 2

Contracting parties will create favorable conditions for strengthening of interaction between them, holding seminars and joint surveys, establishment among themselves of other forms of cooperation.

Article 3

Representatives of Contracting Parties will meet as required for discussion of questions of cooperation.

For the purpose of consolidation of efforts for permission of important issues within cooperation Contracting Parties can create expert and working groups.

Article 4

Contracting parties will incur all expenses following from this agreement on the basis of the mutual arrangement.

When financing joint actions for cooperation Contracting Parties will adhere to the principle according to which expenses on the organization of these actions are incurred by the accepting Contracting Party, and expenses on stay and on journey by transport there and back - the directing Contracting Party.

Article 5

When implementing cooperation Contracting Parties will use the language acceptable for both Contracting Parties.

Article 6

Disputes between Contracting Parties on interpretation or application of this agreement will be permitted by negotiations.

Article 7

This agreement becomes effective from the moment of its signing.

Article 8

This agreement can be added and changed from written consent of both Contracting Parties.

Article 9

This agreement is effective within five years and will remain in force for the subsequent five-year periods if one of Contracting Parties in writing does not report about the intention to stop its action at least in six months prior to expiry date of the present the Agreement.

It is made in Almaty on October 14, 1997 in duplicate, everyone in the Kazakh, Ukrainian and Russian languages, and all texts are authentic.

In case of disagreements in case of interpretation of provisions of this agreement Contracting Parties will address the text stated in Russian.
