attaching importance to development of traditional scientific ties,

in view of that the science by the nature is single, and many scientific problems were solved on the basis of general or joint programs, projects or bilateral agreements between scientific institutions of both academies,

aiming to keep and strengthen the existing cooperation in carrying out scientific research and preparation of scientific personnel,

for the purpose of ensuring further expansion of scientific cooperation signed this Agreement.

Article 1

The parties cooperate in the following major directions of the activities:

- basic and exploratory researches in the field of natural technical and the humanities;

- the solution of the scientific, scientific and technical and social and economic problems which are important for the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus;

- providing scientists and specialists of the Parties with necessary information for carrying out scientific research, including about the carried-out programs, scientific achievements and opening, the existing network of information banks and knowledge bases in the priority directions of science about archives, about the used relevant foreign networks, about specialized councils, scientific conferences and forums;

- examination of research works, scientific and technical products, reviewing of scientific articles, monographs;

- the publication of scientific works in scientific publications of the Parties;

- assistance in preparation and certification of scientific personnel, including through postgraduate study and doctoral studies, by training and posting of scientists, participation of the scientific Parties in work of specialized councils;

- organization and holding scientific conferences, symposiums and joint seminars;

- assistance to mutual use of the unique scientific equipment.

Article 2

The parties agreed to strengthen and develop the existing scientific bonds, researches jointly conducted, the existing cooperation and participation of scientific institutions in general programs, projects and plans.

The parties recommend to the scientific institutions and scientists to expand direct cooperation in the directions listed in Article 1.

Scientific institutions and the organizations of the Parties, being contractors of joint surveys, approve and sign direct interinstitute agreements on scientific cooperation.

Article 3

The parties will exchange experience of the organization of scientific research, promotions of scientific achievements in practice, training of highly qualified young specialists and scientific personnel.

Article 4

The parties shall transfer each other the interesting their literatures and magazines issued in case of their financial support. Conditions and procedure for such transfer are approved by the Parties in addition.

The parties on requests each other will direct information on the activities, and also to exchange normative legal documents in the field of science which are effective in the Republic of Uzbekistan and in the Republic of Belarus.

Article 5

The parties will quickly inform each other on the major decisions made by them which are of interest to other Party.

Article 6

The parties will timely notify each other on the major events held by them, including on the international conferences, symposiums, seminars and to promote participation of representatives of other Party in them.

Article 7

In necessary cases of the Party will use possibilities of each other for the purpose of the problem resolution, important for development of economy and culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus. In particular, the Parties intend to interact in development and implementation of scientific and technical, innovative and social and economic programs and projects, urgent for Tashkent and Minsk.

Article 8

In case of need and in case of the consent of both Parties to cooperation the scientific institutions, the organizations and the companies which are not a part of the system of academies of Sciences, and also other states and also scientific institutions, the organizations and the companies of other states can be attracted.

Article 9

The parties agreed to support participation of the scientists and teachers in work of scientific (expert) councils and editorial boards of scientific magazines of other Party as members of these councils and editorial boards.

Article 10

The parties agreed mutually to render assistance and the help each other in printing and publishing activities.

Article 11

In case of need the Parties will use possibilities of each other for conducting independent scientific examinations.

Article 12

The parties will interact in search of additional (off-budget) sources of financing for realization within this Agreement of joint projects, programs and actions.

Article 13

The parties shall provide based on this Agreement in case of need medical care by the scientist and to the staff of other Party who is in business trip at the host party and also opportunity to use libraries, archives and other information funds.

Article 14

The parties agreed to sign special agreements among themselves on the questions infringing on interests of several scientific institutions of each Party or requiring the consent of the governments of the countries.

Article 15

The parties will perform cooperation on the principles of long-term partnership and mutual advantage on the basis of legislations of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus.

Article 16

The questions connected with implementation of separate provisions of this agreement are solved by correspondence or at meetings of agents of the parties.

The parties will give opportunity to the representatives to speak at meetings of Presidium of other Party with messages on sales activity of this Agreement, separate projects, programs and actions, and also with offers on further development of cooperation.

Article 17

This Agreement can be added or changed as agreed by the parties. Amendments or changes are drawn up by protocols which become effective from the date of their signing by plenipotentiaries of the Parties and are integral parts of this Agreement.
