About approval of the Regulations on passport system in the Republic of Tajikistan

1. Approve the enclosed Regulations on passport system in the Republic of Tajikistan.

2. To the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan to develop and approve the Instruction about procedure for application of the Regulations on passport system in the Republic of Tajikistan.

3. To the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan in accordance with the established procedure to notify embassies of foreign countries on enforcement since September 1, 1996 of the passport of the citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Regulations on passport system in the Republic of Tajikistan

I. General provisions

1. The passport of the citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan is the main identity document of the citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan and is valid for entrance, departure and movement on the territory of countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

All citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan who reached the 16th summer age shall have the passport of the citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan.

II. Issue and use of the passport of the citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan

Issue and replacement of the passport is made by law-enforcement bodies at the place of residence of citizens, and the persons who are constantly living abroad and acquired nationality of the Republic Tadzhikistandiplomatichesky representative offices or consular establishments of the Republic of Tajikistan.

- the statement in the form established by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan;

- two black-and-white pictures of 35 x 45 mm in size.

For replacement of the passport in connection with change of surname, name, middle name, nationality, or in case of establishment of inaccuracies in records, the documents confirming these circumstances are also submitted.
