aiming at further interaction in legal and other spheres of parliamentary activities, to strengthening of ties and contacts between two countries,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties help inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation for the purpose of creation of the contractual legal basis providing development of equal relations in political social and economic, humanitarian and other spheres.

Article 2

The parties within the competence promote synchronization of ratification process in relation to the agreements signed between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.

Article 3

The parties promote rapprochement and harmonization of the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan and the legislation of the Russian Federation, activate for this purpose interaction of the delegations in Inter-parliamentary Assembly of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Inter-parliamentary Assembly of Eurasian economic community.

Article 4

For the purpose of ensuring coordination of activities in the international parliamentary organizations of the Party hold consultations for development of the approved line items in case of discussion of the questions which are of mutual interest.

Article 5

The parties exchange delegations for studying of experience of parliamentary activities, including practice of development and adoption of legal acts, promote development of bonds between the committees and the commissions.

Article 6

For the organization and coordination of interaction of the Parties the permanent Commission on cooperation of Majlisi milli of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (further - the Commission) which is headed by the cochairmen of the Commission approved by the Parties is formed.

The operating procedure of the Commission is determined by its Regulations.

Article 7

The expenses connected with accomplishment of this agreement assume Majlisi milli of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on the parity basis.

Costs for carrying out commission sessions, organizational, technical and other support of these meetings is undertaken by the host party.

This agreement is signed for a period of five years and will be prolonged automatically for the subsequent 5-year periods if any of the Parties does not declare the intention to stop its action by the written notice of other Party at least in six months prior to the expiration of the corresponding period.

This agreement becomes effective from the date of its signing.
