About approval of General provisions of safety of burial of radioactive waste in geological storages

According to the Laws of Ukraine "About the treatment of radioactive waste", "About procedure for decision making about placement, design, construction of the nuclear installations and objects intended for the treatment of radioactive waste, having nation-wide value" and for the purpose of ensuring state regulation in the field of the treatment of radioactive waste of PRIKAZYVAYU:

1. Approve General provisions of safety of burial of radioactive waste in geological storages (further - General provisions) (are applied).

2. To management of safety of the treatment of radioactive waste and removal from operation (Kutuzova T. Ya.) provide submission of this order in accordance with the established procedure on state registration in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

3. To management of safety of the treatment of radioactive waste and removal from operation (Kutuzova T. Ya.) provide bringing to data of the interested organizations of information on entry into force of General provisions.

4. In a month after state registration of the order to provide to the state company "The State Scientific and Technological Center on Nuclear and Radiation Safety" (Vasilchenko V. M.) replication of General provisions.

5. To impose control over the implementation of the order on the vice-chairman Makarovskaya O. A.

General provisions of safety of burial of radioactive waste in geological storages

These General provisions are developed according to the Laws of Ukraine "About the treatment of radioactive waste", "About procedure for decision making about placement, design, construction of the nuclear installations and objects intended for the treatment of radioactive waste, having nation-wide value" and "About use of nuclear energy and radiation safety".

General provisions establish the main criteria, requirements and conditions of ensuring nuclear and radiation safety in case of burial of radioactive waste (further - Russian joint stock company) which according to the legislation of Ukraine is subject to burial in stable geological formations (geological storages), at all stages of lifecycle of storage for the purpose of protection of personnel, the population and the surrounding environment against harmful action of ionizing radiation.
