According to article 81 of the Federal Law of January 10, 2003 N18-FZ "Charter of Rail Transport of the Russian Federation" (The Russian Federation Code, 2003, N 2, Art. 170; N 28, of Art. 2891; 2006, N 50, 5279) I order to the Art.:

1. Approve the enclosed criteria of determination of categories of trains for public conveyance depending on the speed of their movement and distance of following.

2. Declare invalid the order of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation of December 24, 2004 of N50 "About Criteria of Determination of Categories of Trains for Public Conveyance depending on the Speed of Their Movement and Distance of Following" (it is registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on February 16, 2005, registration N 6330).

Criteria of determination of categories of trains for public conveyance depending on the speed of their movement and distance of following

1. On distance of following and conditions of journey of the train, intended for public conveyance (further - trains), are subdivided on:

a) distant - the following on distance over 150 km which structures join cars with places for sitting and lying and which meet requirements imposed to journey in distant following;

b) suburban - the following on distance no more than 200 km consisting of cars with places for sitting.

2. Determination of categories of trains depending on the speed of their movement is made proceeding from the journey speed of movement of such trains which is determined as the average speed of movement of such trains from initial to terminal station of rout to follow.

3. The size of journey speed is determined by division of general extent of rout to follow of the train (in kilometers) on general dwell-time of the train along the line (in hours) taking into account time of all stops on railway stations for landing and disembarkation of passengers.

4. On train speed are subdivided on:

a) high-speed - the journey speed of movement of which constitutes more than 91 km/h;

b) ambulances - which journey speed of movement from 50 to 91 km/h;

c) passenger - the journey speed of movement of which does not exceed 50 km/h.
