About service in local government bodies

This Law regulates legal, organizational, material and social sales terms citizens of Ukraine of the right to service in local government bodies, determines the general principles of activities of officials of local self-government, their legal status, procedure and legal guarantees of stay on service in local government bodies.

Section I. General provisions

Article 1. Service in local government bodies

The service in local government bodies is professional, on permanent basis the activities of the citizens of Ukraine holding positions in local government bodies, directed to realization by territorial bulk of the right to local self-government and separate powers of the executive bodies conferred by the law.

Article 2. Official of local self-government

Official of local self-government is the person which is working in local government bodies, having the appropriate ex-officio full powers on implementation of organizational and administrative and advisory and consultative functions and receiving the salary for the account of the local budget.

Operation of this Law does not extend to technical employees and service personnel of local government bodies.

Article 3. Positions in local government bodies

Positions in local government bodies are:

elective offices to which persons are elected on local elections;

elective offices on which persons are chosen or affirm the relevant council;

positions to which persons are appointed rural, settlement, by the mayor, the chairman district, district in the city, regional council on competitive basis or according to other procedure, stipulated by the legislation Ukraine.
