About procedure for election of new members of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic

For the purpose of improvement of work of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic the National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic decides:

1. The structure of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic in the cases provided by this Law is updated by election of new members.

2. Powers of members of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic stop in the presence of one of the following bases:

in case of response of the member of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic as People's Deputy of the Azerbaijan Republic, election (appointment) to position, incompatible with the status of the People's Deputy, etc.;

in case of the address of the member of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic with request for secession of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic.

3. In case of the address of the People's Deputy of the Azerbaijan Republic with request for secession of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic the National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic makes without discussion the decision on the termination of powers of the People's Deputy of the Azerbaijan Republic as the member of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic.

4. The chairman of the Supreme Council of the Azerbaijan Republic and his deputies since their election to position are part of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic. Their powers as the member of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic stop when leaving from position. In this case they can be elected members of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic as People's Deputies of the Azerbaijan Republic in accordance with general practice again.

5. Offers on candidates in members of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic are represented to the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Azerbaijan Republic and his deputies. 7. The national assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic after discussion approves the list of candidates in members of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic and takes vote.

8. Vote can openly be taken or, according to the decision of meeting, secretly. In members of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic the candidates who gathered more than a half from total number of voices of members of National assembly of the Azerbaijan Republic and if the number of candidates are more than amount of vacancies, - the candidates who gathered poll, bigger concerning other candidates, are recognized chosen. On the candidates which gathered equal poll on one place repeated vote is taken.

9. This Law becomes effective from the moment of acceptance.
