The candidate for Ombudsman's position is submitted for consideration of chambers of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The resolution of Legislative house and Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ombudsman's election is accepted at meetings of chambers of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan by a majority vote from total number of deputies of Legislative house and members of the Senate respectively.
After consideration of the candidacy of Ombudsman at meetings of chambers of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan the made decisions of chambers on this matter go to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
After the term of the powers Ombudsman continues to fulfill the duties before new Ombudsman's election.
The same person cannot be elected to Ombudsman's position more than two terms in a row.
Ombudsman shall suspend or stop the membership or participation in political party for the term of the powers. Ombudsman cannot be engaged in other types of paid activities, except scientific, creative and pedagogical.
Ombudsman's deputy is elected by Legislative house and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for a period of five years.
The candidate for position of the deputy of Ombudsman is submitted for consideration of chambers of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan by Ombudsman.
Ombudsman's deputy promotes accomplishment of obligations of Ombudsman, performs its functions in the absence of Ombudsman.
In case of early release from Ombudsman's position before new Ombudsman's election its obligations are performed by Ombudsman's deputy, and the guarantees established for Ombudsman extend to this period on it.
Ombudsman's deputy shall suspend or stop the membership or participation in political party for the term of the powers. Ombudsman's deputy cannot be engaged in other types of paid activities, except scientific, creative and pedagogical.
Ombudsman or his deputy can be ahead of schedule dismissed by chambers of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan in case:
filing of application about addition of the powers by it;
permanent violation of the state of health confirmed with the conclusion issued by medical institution;
introductions in legal force of conviction of court against it;
election or appointment it to position which class in the law is incompatible with Ombudsman's activities (Ombudsman's deputy);
recognitions by its court incapacitated or it is limited by capable;
recognitions by his missing person or announcements the died judgment;
