About measures for preparation for carrying out in the city of Samarkand of 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in 2025

In recent years the cooperation of Uzbekistan with UNESCO was lifted to new level. UNESCO performs function of important platform in further increase and strengthening of the authority of our country on the world community, expansion and deepening of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

As a result in 2017 - 2023 14 unique samples of our national cultural heritage are included in lists of UNESCO and are acknowledged at the international level as heritage of mankind. The city of Bukhara is included in Network of the creative cities. In September, 2023 in the headquarters of UNESCO the 1050 anniversary since the birth of the great thinker and the scientist-Encyclopaedist Abu Raykhon Beruni was widely celebrated.

Unanimous support following the results of the 42nd session of the UNESCO General Conference which took place on November 7 - 22, 2023 in the city of Paris, initiatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan about carrying out in 2025 in the city of Samarkand of 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference (further - the Session) found wide recognition of the world community as important event.

For the purpose of thorough and comprehensive training to carrying out at the high level of this prestigious international forum, and also further development of cooperation of Uzbekistan and UNESCO:

1. Create Organizing committee for preparation for carrying out in the city of Samarkand of 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in 2025 (further - Organizing committee) and to approve its structure according to appendix No. 1.

2. To organizing committee (A. N. Aripov):

provide the solution of all organizational matters connected with holding the Session and also timely and high-quality preparation of information and analytical and other documentation;

take measures for creation of media products and high-quality audiovisual works about value of holding the Session in the city of Samarkand, to ensuring their broad promotion by transfer to ether in domestic and foreign mass media, placements on social networks, applications of such acceptances as hashtag and челлендж;

organize in connection with holding the Session in the city of Samarkand the edition of the book album "Samarkand — at the Intersection of World Civilizations" in the Uzbek, Russian, English and French languages, creation of series of stamps and envelopes, release into the stream of commerce of calendars and evident means of promotion, commemorative coins, silver and gold coins;

equip within the Session of the venue of actions in the city of Samarkand with the modern technical and telecommunication equipment, and also prepare objects in the cities of Tashkent and Samarkand and necessary hotel fund;

organize within the Session in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Shakhrisabz cultural actions, excursions and acceptances at the high level;

coordinate effective solution of questions of arrival and departure of participants of the Session, execution of the visa by it, rendering transport and medical services.

3. Hold the Session in the tourist complex "Silk Road Samarkand".

4. Within preparation for the Session:

To the agency of cultural heritage together with Fund of cultural development and art, the Ministry of Economics and finance to organize work on preserving the corresponding objects of cultural heritage in the city of Samarkand, and also immersive and thematic exhibitions;

Submit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the official application addressed to the CEO of UNESCO on inclusion of the Republic of Uzbekistan into the International research center for storage and restoration of monuments of culture;

The national commission on cases of UNESCO to take measures for inclusion of the cities of Uzbekistan, unique cultural objects and objects of natural heritage in Networks of the creative cities and the studying UNESCO cities, and also the international lists respectively;

To fund of cultural development and art on the basis of criteria of UNESCO and with involvement of foreign experts to introduce in accordance with the established procedure drafts of the relevant resolutions on creation in the city of Samarkand of the State museum of the Great silk way, to recovery of gardens of the great commander Amir Temur, the restoration of the Bibikhanum complex, development of the master plan and management plan directed to protection of the Historic center Bukhara entered in the List of the world heritage;

To Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokimiyats of areas and the city of Tashkent, the relevant ministries and departments together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organize the information and explanatory work directed to detailed disclosure of value of holding the Session in our country and also transformations of Uzbekistan into one of the centers of worldwide policy, the author of global initiatives.

5. Approve:

"Road map" on preparation for carrying out in the city of Samarkand of 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in 2025 according to appendix No. 2 *;

The list of diplomatic representations abroad and the highest educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan organizing propaganda activities in the foreign states within preparation for holding 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in the city of Samarkand in 2025 according to appendix No. 3*.

To organizing committee, the Ministry of the higher education, science and innovations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the relevant ministries and departments according to this resolution to take in accordance with the established procedure measures for broad promotion in the foreign states of more than three-thousand-year history of development of our statehood, scientific, cultural and spiritual heritage of our great ancestors who made invaluable contribution to world civilization, results of the reforms performed in our country, and also further development of cooperation with them.

6. Determine that:

The fund of cultural development and art is Working body of Organizing committee (further - Working body);

The state unitary enterprise "Interforum" is the Director of photography on preparation for the organization of the Session;

the first heads of the ministries and departments bear the personal responsibility for timely and high-quality accomplishment of the orders provided by this resolution and also other operational orders of Organizing committee and Working body.

7. To the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provide according to visa requests of Working body execution of entrance visas to participants of the Session without collection of the consular fees and charges on account of compensation of actual expenses, if necessary - at the international airports "Tashkent" and "Samarkand".
