This Law regulates procedure for the organization and activity of the courts of the aksakals established according to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic and this Law and also their relations with state bodies and local government bodies.
In this Law the following concepts and terms are used:
1) legal representatives are parents, adoptive parents, guardians or custodians of the child, the participant of court session of aksakals (the applicant, the defendant, the witness), representatives of organizations or organizations, authorized state body on protection of children;

13) the member of the court of aksakals - the citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, the elected to structure of court of aksakals according to requirements and according to the procedure, established by this Law.
1. Courts of aksakals - the public bodies created on a voluntary basis, on the basis of selectivity and self-government, designed to perform hearing of cases (materials) about disputes between citizens, citizens and legal entities according to the procedure and the cases established by this Law.
2. Courts of aksakals are established according to the decision of citizens in the territories of the ayylny aimag and city according to the procedure, determined by this Law.
3. Courts of aksakals have seal and stamps with the name.
1. The legal basis of activity of the courts of aksakals is constituted by the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, this Law and other regulatory legal acts of the Kyrgyz Republic.
2. Courts of aksakals in the activities are guided also by the moral standards and morality which historically consisted of traditions and customs of the people of Kyrgyzstan which are not contradicting the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
