Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Subject of regulation of the law

1. This law regulates Bases of state policy in the field of tourism, the relations connected with requirements imposed by persons performing activities, rest of physical persons, tours.

Article 2. Legal regulation of tourist activities

1. Tourist activities in the Republic of Armenia are regulated by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, the Civil code of the Republic of Armenia, this Law, international treaties of the Republic of Armenia and other legal acts.

Article 3. Basic concepts of the Law

1. In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

1) the visitor - physical person which travels with any purpose (business, tourist or personal) from the main residence to other place for a period of up to one year, except as specified accomplishment of paid work or rendering services by physical person or resident organization in the place of arrival.

The physical persons traveling for the purpose of boundary, seasonal or other short-term work, distant (digital) work in any area, diplomatic, consular, military service, obtaining long-term (one year and more) educations, obtaining long-term (one year and more) medical care and servicing, are not considered as visitors.

2) the tourist visitor who spends in the place of arrival at least one night, but travel lasts about one year;

3) the one-day visitor - the visitor who is not spending the night in the place of arrival at least one night;

4) consolidation of persons providing tourist services - the non-profit organization created by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia which combines persons providing one or several types of tourist services or represents the interests of these persons and in case of election in the procedure established by this law qualifies tourist services or objects of hotel economy;

5) tourism trip for a period of up to one year for the purpose of acquaintance, rest, visit of relatives, receipt of improving, rehabilitation, practical, educational, religious, medical care and servicing, participation in conferences, celebrations, exhibitions, actions of cultural, ecological, operational and other nature, and also for other purposes;

6) the Resident of the Republic Armenia - the physical person which is considered by resident in sense of Item 5 of part 1 of article 3 of the Law "About Currency Control and Currency Exchange Control";

7) the Nonresident of the Republic Armenia - the physical person which is considered by the nonresident in sense of Item 6 of part 1 of article 3 of the Law "About Currency Control and Currency Exchange Control";

8) entrance tourism tourism of nonresidents of the Republic of Armenia in the territory of the Republic of Armenia;

9) exit tourism tourism of residents of the Republic of Armenia outside the territory of the Republic of Armenia;

10) internal tourism tourism of residents of the Republic of Armenia in the territory of the Republic of Armenia;

11) tourist services:
