About veterinary science

Chapter I. General provisions

Article 1. Basic concepts

1.0. The basic concepts used in this Law mean the following:

1.0.1. veterinary science - system of scientific, practical and organizational measures in the field of the prevention of diseases of animals (the cattle, birds, fishes, bees, wild animals and others), productions of the live stock products suitable and safe for health of the person, and also protection of the population against diseases, general for the person and animals;

1.0.2. veterinary activities - type of activity, performed according to the procedure, established by the legislation, in the field of management of veterinary science, veterinary supervision, services and pharmacology;

1.0.3. veterinary medicine - the sphere of activity covering studying, prevention, diagnostics, treatment of diseases of animals and health protection of animals;

1.0.10. identification - accounting (coding) of animals;

1.0.11. the loads which are under the state veterinary supervision - animals, products and raw materials of animal origin, veterinary medicines, fodder products and feed additives;

1.0.12. the individual veterinary medical praktikaveterinarny activities performed by the physical persons who are engaged in business activity without formation of legal entity taking into account requirements of articles 5.3 and 30 of this Law;

1.0.13. private veterinary service - the veterinary activities performed by legal entities (veterinary clinics, etc.) licenses according to the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic "About licenses and permissions" on the basis;

1.0.14. animal products - meat, milk, suitable for consumption by the person, eggs, honey and products received from them by conversion;

1.0.15. raw materials of animal origin - skin, fur, wool, hair, bristle, feathers, bones, horns, hoofs, other waste of animal origin not suitable for food and forage, and veterinary seized properties;

1.0.16. fodder products - the raw, semi-processed and completely processed products, substances and feed additives used in power supply of animals;

1.0.17. feed additives - the substances of organic, mineral and (or) synthetic origin which are purposefully added to the forages and water used as source of the nutritive matters, minerals and vitamins lacking in diet of animals.

Article 2. Legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic on veterinary science

The legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic on veterinary science consists of the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic, this Law, other regulatory legal acts adopted according to it, and also international treaties which the Azerbaijan Republic joined.

Article 3. Main objectives of veterinary science

3.0. Main objectives of veterinary science following:

3.0.1. protect the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic from infectious diseases of animals which can be delivered from foreign countries;

3.0.2. be engaged in prevention, diagnostics and treatment of infectious and noncontagious diseases of animals, to take the measures directed to increase in livestock of animals and increase in their performance;

3.0.3. protect the population from diseases, general for the person and animals;

3.0.4. according to the procedure, established by the law to ensure veterinary (veterinary and sanitary) safety and to exercise veterinary supervision behind transportation and transit of the loads which are under the state veterinary supervision, and also their import and export;

3.0.5. according to the procedure, established by the legislation to carry out in skotoboyny Items and workshops, in the companies of conversion, in places of procurement, storage, sale and in other places veterinary (veterinary and sanitary) examination of the products and raw materials of animal origin intended for power supply of people, feeding of animals and conversion;

3.0.6. develop methods and means for fight against diseases of animals, according to the procedure, established by the law, to control safety and quality of veterinary medicines and means, fodder products and feed additives, biostimulants and hormones;

3.0.7. prevent environmental pollution by the legal entities and physical persons operating in the area veterinary science and livestock production and to eliminate pollution;

3.0.8. take measures for development of veterinary science, participate in expansion, implementation of scientific results in farms, in preparation and advanced training of specialists in veterinary science;
