1.2. Rules are obligatory for all companies and the organizations designing, making and operating technological plasma installations for dusting, cuttings, building up, the plasma machining (PM), plasma and chemical technology, plasma metallurgy, welding.

1.3. Requirements of these rules shall be considered in case of development of normative and technical documents (state standard specifications, OST, TU, instructions, techniques, etc.) regulating constructive, production and operational requirements to plasma installations.

2. General provisions

2.1. In case of operation of plasma installations impact on workers of dangerous and harmful production factors is possible (enc. 1).

Physical factors:

- the increased level of permanent high-frequency noise;.

- the increased level of low-frequency ultrasound;

- the increased levels of electromagnetic radiation in ultra-violet, visible, infrared and the VCh-ranges;

- the increased air ionization;

- dangerous level of tension in electric chain which short circuit can happen through body of the person;

- mobile elements of production equipment, the moving products, procurements, materials.

Chemical factors:

- the increased dust content of air of the working area products of interaction of plasma with the processed materials. The aerosols containing different metals, their oxides, carbides, silicides, borides in quality of firm phase belong to their number;

- air pollution of the working area products of its radiolysis (ozone, nitrogen oxides), and also products of reactions in case of plasma and chemical technology and plasma metallurgy.
