About approval of regulations and rules on ensuring nuclear and radiation safety

Based on item 4 of article 21 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of June 18, 2019 No. 198-Z "About radiation safety", subitem 7.4 of Item 7 of the Regulations on the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus approved by the Presidential decree of the Republic of Belarus of December 29, 2006 No. 756, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus DECIDES:

1. Approve regulations and rules on ensuring nuclear and radiation safety "Near-surface burial of radioactive waste. Safety requirements" (are attached).

2. This resolution becomes effective after its official publication.

1. Regulations and rules on ensuring nuclear and radiation safety "Near-surface burial of radioactive waste. Safety requirements" (further - Rules) establish technical requirements of safety to the designed, constructed, operated, closed and closed Items of near-surface burial of radioactive waste (further - PPZRO).

Technical requirements in the field of ensuring radiation safety in case of placement of PPZRO are established by the regulations and rules on ensuring nuclear and radiation safety "Placement of Items of storage of nuclear materials, Items of storage of radioactive waste, Items of burial of radioactive waste" approved by the resolution of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus of August 18, 2022 No. 48.
