About approval of regulations and rules on ensuring nuclear and radiation safety

Based on item 4 of article 21 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of June 18, 2019 No. 198-Z "About radiation safety", subitem 7.4 of Item 7 of the Regulations on the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus approved by the Presidential decree of the Republic of Belarus of December 29, 2006 No. 756, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus DECIDES:

1. Approve regulations and rules on ensuring nuclear and radiation safety "Near-surface burial of radioactive waste. Safety requirements" (are attached).

2. This resolution becomes effective after its official publication.

Chapter 1. Appointment and scope

1. Regulations and rules on ensuring nuclear and radiation safety "Near-surface burial of radioactive waste. Safety requirements" (further - Rules) establish technical requirements of safety to the designed, constructed, operated, closed and closed Items of near-surface burial of radioactive waste (further - PPZRO).

2. Requirements of Rules do not extend to activities for the address with the deactivation waste formed as a result of holding actions for overcoming effects of catastrophic crash on the Chernobyl NPP on the production waste with the increased content of natural radionuclides which is formed when implementing activities for production and conversion of mineral and organic raw materials.

3. For the purposes of these rules terms and their determinations in the values established by the Law of the Republic of Belarus "About radiation safety" and the Law of the Republic of Belarus of July 30, 2008 No. 426-Z "About use of atomic energy" and also the following terms and their determinations are used:
