About introduction of amendments to the Law on health protection No. 411/1995
The Parliament adopts this organic law.
Art. I. - In the Law on health protection No. 411/1995 (Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 1995, No. 34, of the Art. 373), with subsequent changes, to make the following changes:
1. Part (Article 20 to add 2) with Item-1) from the following content:
"-1) about palliative care, within means of funds of compulsory medical insurance;".
2. In part (1) Article 21 of the word"; medical care at home." shall be replaced with words "; medical care at home; palliative care.".
3. Add Chapter IV with Article 35-1 of the following content:
"Article 35-1. Palliative care
(1) Palliative care is rendering medical services for active and complex support of patients whose disease does not answer treatment.
(2) Services of palliative care are provided for the purpose of improvement of quality of life of patients, and also their families which faced the problems connected with life-threatening disease, way of prevention and relief of sufferings due to early detection of pain, its proper assessment, pain relief and other physical symptoms and also by ensuring psychosocial and spiritual support of patients and their families.
(3) Services of palliative care assume participation of multi-profile groups in ensuring different needs of patients and their families.
(4) Services of palliative care according to the legislation are suppliers of medical services irrespective of type of property and form of business, and also the associations and the organizations allowed to provision of this type of service.
(5) the List of services of palliative care, regulations on the organization and implementation of activities of the services giving palliative care and also the minimum quality standards of services of palliative care affirm the Government.".
Art. II. - (1) This law becomes effective from the date of publication in the Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova.
