Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Purpose of this Law

The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of innovative activities.

Article 2. Legislation on innovative activities

The legislation on innovative activities consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.

If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about innovative activities then are applied rules of the international treaty.

Article 3. Basic concepts

In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:

innovation - the new development introduced into civil circulation or used for own needs which application in practice provides achievement of considerable social and economic effect;

innovative infrastructure - set of the companies, organizations, organizations, their associations of any pattern of ownership performing material, financial, organizational and methodical, information, consulting and other security of innovative activities;

the innovative project - complex of the actions providing terms of accomplishment, contractors, sources of financing and forming of the corresponding infrastructure for creation of new developments;

innovative activities - activities for creation of new developments, and also ensuring their transfer and realization to the sphere of production;

the state order on creation of innovations - task for accomplishment of the innovative project at the expense of the means of the Government budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other sources which are not prohibited by the legislation;
