About some measures concerning classification of the loans granted to physical persons

In connection with the decision of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova No. 55 of March 17, 2020 about the announcement of emergency state, for the purpose of maintenance of financial stability of banking sector, and also support of physical persons - consumers, victims of the negative economic consequences caused by COVID-19, according to the Art. 11, of 27, 44 Laws No. 548-XIII of 21.07.1995 on National Bank of Moldova, the Executive committee of National Bank of Moldova DECIDES:

1. Banks till May 31, 2020 can keep discounts for losses on the loans granted to debtors - physical persons, according to the classification performed by bank on acceptance date of this decision if the debtor does not pay payments according to the approved schedule.

2. Change till July 31, 2020 on the credits mentioned in Item 1, will not lead payment due dates and/or payment amounts to classification of the corresponding credits in more tough category according to Regulations regulations on classification of assets and contingent obligations.

3. This decision will not lead to classification of the loans granted to the debtors mentioned in Item 1, in the category more profitable than existing on acceptance date of this decision.

4. This decision does not extend to the loans granted to the debtors specified in Item 1, after acceptance date of this decision.

5. In case of decision making about the prolongation or renegotsiation provided to the debtors specified in Item 1, banks will provide effective management of liquidity, and also prudential management of other connected risks.

6. This resolution is published in the Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova and becomes effective from the date of its publication till July 31, 2020.
