2. Legal status of the city of Almaty is determined by this Law and other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
1. The city of Almaty has the regional symbolics reflecting features of the city as cultural, political, economic and scientific center of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also feature of its geographical location and the environment.
2. The description and procedure for use of regional symbolics of the city of Almaty are determined by representative body of the city of Almaty.
1. The territory of the city of Almaty is constituted by lands within the borders of the administrative and territorial units of the city of Almaty established and changed by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan taking into account opinion of local representative and executive bodies.
2. The lands outside city line constituting the single social, natural and economic territory with the city form residential suburb of Almaty which sizes and borders are established by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The procedure and the mode of use of the lands included in residential suburb are determined by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the offer of executive body of the city approved with regional executive body which territory is included in residential suburb.
