The protocol on cooperation in the field of information between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

of June 20, 1995

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, hereinafter referred to as "Parties",

proceeding from the Contract on bases of the interstate relations, friendship and cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Ukraine, of August 25, 1992,

considering need of establishment of bilateral cooperation in the field of information,

for the purpose of further increasing knowledge of life in each of the countries, unbiased and shirokoplanovy interpretation of events in the Republic of Uzbekistan and in Ukraine,

for the purpose of achievement of bigger mutual understanding and trust between two countries and societies,

agreed about the following:

Article 1

The parties will perform exchange of information about events in domestic and foreign policy of the countries. Such exchange will be performed through Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ukraine and Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The parties will perform it on the basis of reciprocity.

Article 2

Each of the Parties on the basis of reciprocity will promote distribution in the territory of newsletters, press releases and other publications by diplomatic and consular establishments of other Party according to the current legislation and the international obligations.

Article 3

The parties will help cooperation between organizations of television and broadcasting, news agencies, editions of periodicals, the creative unions of journalists and the certain staff of mass media of two countries.

Article 4

Each of the Parties will provide favorable conditions for correspondents of other Party, constantly accredited in each of the countries, and also correspondents who temporarily stay, respectively in the Republic of Uzbekistan and in Ukraine for the purpose of preparation of information and analytical materials.

Article 5

The parties shall coordinate actions on the organization of lighting and information support of bilateral visits of high officials of two states, other foreign policy shares on bilateral basis. For this purpose working and expert groups can be created.

The parties will also hold consultations within the international forums concerning information.

Article 6

The parties will perform according to the mutual arrangement of consultation between heads of services of information and the press of Foreign Ministries for the purpose of improvement of exchange of information, increase in efficiency and efficiency of practical activities.

The organization of consultations is regulated based on this Protocol.

Financial issues are resolved on the principle of reciprocity.

Article 7

This protocol becomes effective from the date of its signing and acts on extent of 5 years and its action is automatically prolonged for the next 5 years if any of the Parties in 6 months prior to the termination of term does not inform other Party in writing on desire to suspend the Protocol.

It is made in the city of Tashkent on June "20", 1995, in duplicate, everyone in the Uzbek and Ukrainian languages, at the same time both texts are equally authoritative.
