in view of that both states are members of International Atomic Energy Agency,

considering that the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation are agreement parties about non-proliferation of nuclear weapon of July 1, 1968, the Convention on physical protection of nuclear material and nuclear installations of October 26, 1979 (with changes of July 8, 2005), the Integrated convention on safety of the treatment of the fulfilled fuel and on safety of the treatment of radioactive waste of September 5, 1997,

being guided by the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the field of use of atomic energy in the peace purposes of December 29, 2017,

based on the principle of mutual economic benefit,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

1. The parties perform cooperation in designing, construction, commissioning, operation and conclusion from operation in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan of nuclear power plant as a part of 2 power units of nuclear power plant on the basis of the water-to-water power reactor on the Russian project installed capacity of each power unit to GW 1,2.

The construction of nuclear power plant is carried out on the basis of the project of reference nuclear power plant in the Russian Federation approved by competent authorities of the Parties with use of the same or similar reference equipment, structure and systems if other is not provided by the contracts signed according to this agreement.

The cooperation provided by this Item includes:

carrying out researches on the platform of construction of nuclear power plant for development of the engineering design of nuclear power plant;

evaluating impact on the environment;

designing and construction of nuclear power plant;

delivery of the necessary equipment and materials;
