About approval of Rules of staging of geological exploration

According to Item 8 of article 74 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan of December 27, 2017 "About subsoil and subsurface use" I ORDER:

1. Approve the enclosed Rules of staging of geological exploration.

2. To provide to committee of geology and subsurface use of the Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

1) state registration of this order in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

2) within ten calendar days from the date of state registration of this order the direction it the copy in paper and electronic type in the Kazakh and Russian languages in the Republican state company on the right of economic maintaining "The republican center of legal information" for official publication and inclusion in Reference control bank of regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

3) placement of this order on Internet resource of the Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan after its official publication;

4) within ten working days after state registration of this order submission to Legal department of the Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan of data on execution of the actions provided by subitems 1), 2) and 3) of this Item.

3. To impose control of execution of this order on the supervising vice-minister of investments and development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

4. This order becomes effective since June 29, 2018 and is subject to official publication.

Rules of staging of geological exploration

Chapter 1. General provisions

1. These rules of staging of geological exploration (dalee-Pravila) are developed according to Item 8 of article 74 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan of December 27, 2017 "About subsoil and subsurface use" (dalee-Kodeks) and determine procedure for staging of geological exploration.

2. Staging of geological exploration includes exploration works on types of minerals:

solid minerals;

underground waters;

hydrocarbon minerals (further - hydrocarbons).

3. Division of prospecting process into stages is carried out for the purpose of establishment of the rational sequence of accomplishment of work types and general valuation principles of their results on unified methodical basis for increase in efficiency of exploration works and use of resources of subsoil.

Chapter 2. Procedure for staging of geological exploration on solid minerals

4. The complete cycle of exploration works includes five stages:

1) regional geological studying of subsoil;

2) search works;

3) estimative works;

4) investigation of fields;

5) operational investigation of fields.

Criterion of feasibility of work of the subsequent stage are results of technical and economic assessment of data of the previous stage.

Paragraph 1. Regional geological studying of subsoil on solid minerals

5. Regional geological studying of subsoil is basis of the state geological studying of subsoil and is made for the purpose of receipt of the complex geological information constituting fundamental basis of system geological studying of the territory of the country and forecasting of minerals in subsoil.
