About physical culture and sport
The physical culture is part of national culture. The sport based on fair play, respect and cooperation is considered as means of rapprochement of the people, adjustments of the world and friendship.
This Law regulates and establishes the principles of state policy in the field of physical culture and sport of basis of organization-legal and financial and economic system of physical culture and sport, and also the principles which shall be observed for integration to the international sports movement.
In this Law the following basic concepts are used:
a) physical culture - set of the cultural and material values created and used by society for healthy lifestyle and physical enhancement of the person;
b) physical training - the organized process directed to strengthening of health of the population, increase in working capacity and the longevity, on forming which is physically tempered and morally steady generation;
c) sports movement - the activities of the state, public organizations and citizens directed to increase in level of physical culture of the population, to development of physical culture and sport;
d) sport - component of physical culture, historically developed process of competitive activities of people and special professional trainings for preparation for competitions;
e) national team of the Republic of Armenia - the team staffed by the best athletes of sport, trainers-teachers, scientists, doctors and other specialists which prepares and acts in the international sports competitions under National flag of the Republic of Armenia;
e) amateur sport - mass sports activities, component of physical training, means of identification of gifted and perspective persons in different types of sport on preference;
