About measures of tariff regulation of import
In pursuance of the Presidential decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan "About additional measures for streamlining of import transactions" of February 18, 1998 the Cabinet of Ministers decides N UP-1930:
1. Establish since March 1, 1998:
rates of the excise tax on the goods imported on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan according to the appendix N 2;
2. To the Ministry of Finance, the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan to develop and approve:
till limit March 1, 1998 rates of import by physical persons to the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan of the goods which are not subject to excise tax liability;
till April 1, 1998 rules and regulations of movement of goods by physical persons through customs border of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
3. To the ministry of macroeconomic and statistics together with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of external commercial relations and the State Customs Committee till March 15, 1998 to develop and in coordination with the republican commission on monetary policy to approve "Procedure for representation and consideration of requests of business entities for inclusion in the forecast of commodity import, works and services".
4. To the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of external commercial relations, the State Customs Committee together with the Central bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan in ten-day time to develop and submit for approval the procedure excluding import to the Republic of Uzbekistan of the import goods which are not provided with currency means for their payment and the return to importers providing them at the expense of own means.
5. Recognize invalid:
Item 1 of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of August 13, 1996 N 279 "About introduction of collection on import of goods by physical persons to the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan";
Item 2 of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of October 21, 1996 N 362 "About partial change of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of August 13, 1996 N 279 "About introduction of collection on import of goods by physical persons to the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan";
the paragraph 2 Items 2 of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of March 13, 1996 N 95 "About measures for enhancement of control of use of means in import currency when implementing the foreign trade transactions";
the appendix N 14-2 to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of December 5, 1997 N 540 "About the forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators and the Government budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 1998".
6. The ministries and departments together with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan to bring the regulating documents into accord with this resolution.
7. To impose control over the implementation of this resolution on the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sultanov U. T.
