About approval of the Regulations on the Uzbek agency on seal and information, and also enhancement of its activities

According to the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of August 17, 2017 "About measures for further enhancement of activities of the Uzbek agency for seal and information" the Cabinet of Ministers decides No. PP-3223:

1. Approve Regulations on the Uzbek agency on seal and information according to appendix No. 1.

2. Determine that:

the expenses connected with content of central office of the Uzbek agency on seal and information become covered due to assignments on contractual basis in the amount up to 2,0 of the percent from net revenue arriving from sales of products of the publishing houses and printing companies entering its system proceeding from the expense forecast of the agency for financial year and other sources which are not forbidden by the legislation;

the expenses connected with compensation of employees of territorial subdivisions become covered at the expense of means of the Government budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and other expenses connected with their content become covered at the expense of own means, assignments of the publishing houses subordinated to the Agency on seal and information of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, managements on seal and information of areas and the city of Tashkent, on contractual basis and other sources which are not forbidden by the legislation.

3. To the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan to allocate limit for maintenance of vehicles in quantity:

4 units, including 3 personal and 1 persons on duty of the vehicle for central office of the Uzbek agency on seal and information;

14 units for the Agency on seal and information of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, managements on seal and information of areas and the city of Tashkent.

Determine that the expenses connected with acquisition and content of vehicles are performed at the expense of own means of the Uzbek agency on seal and information, the Agency on seal and information of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, managements on seal and information of areas and the city of Tashkent.

4. To the Uzbek agency on seal and information in two weeks to submit for approval in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan the number and staff of board of the Uzbek agency on seal and information.

5. Make changes and additions to some decisions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan according to appendix No. 2.

6. Recognize invalid some decisions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan according to appendix No. 3.

7. To impose control of execution of this resolution on the CEO of the Uzbek agency on seal and information L. H. Tangriyev and on Information analysis department concerning cultural development, art and youth policy of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Regulations on the Uzbek agency on seal and information

Chapter 1. General provisions

10. The main objectives of the Agency are:

1) ensuring execution of the legislation on independent activities of mass media;

2) development of mass media, publishing, printing and information and library activities;

3) implementation of monitoring and control of observance of acts of the legislation, the state and industry standards concerning mass media, publishing, printing and information and library activities, accomplishment of the legislative arrangements guaranteeing freedom of expression and information;

4) participation in implementation of measures, aimed at providing information security, prevention of threats in the information sphere;

5) increase in culture of reading in society, support and development of activities for the edition and distribution of book products, creation electronic and audiobooks;

6) development and accomplishment of target programs for release of socially significant literature;

7) promoting abroad Uzbek and literature, assistance to domestic publishing houses in promotion of their products in the international book market;
