Determination of problem to which solution the Program is directed
Implementation of the principles of the equal rights and opportunities of women and men is one of important conditions of sustainable social and economic development, positive changes in society, realization of human rights and self-realization of the personality, pledge of effective solution of the available problems, and also the European integration of Ukraine and accomplishment of the international obligations according to the basic international treaties in the field of human rights, including the Sustainable development goals till 2030 approved by the United Nations General Assembly.
In 2015 Ukraine took the 67th place among 145 countries according to the Global status report of gender equality in the world on indicators "gender ratio among deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and deputies of regional authorities", "ratio of the average level of the salary of women and average level of the salary of men".
In particular, the share of women in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the VIII convocation constitutes 12 percent that more in comparison with the previous convocations is insignificant. According to local elections of 2015, in 22 regional councils the share of women constituted 15 percent, in city councils - percent 18,1 in the presence of the legislative arrangement at least 30 percent.
